The Hon. Lisa Schriner Lewis is a commissioner for the Pima County Superior Court in Arizona. She was appointed to the bench on March 4, 2021.
Prior to her appointment, Lewis was a shareholder at Waterfall, Economidis, Caldwell, Hanshaw & Villamana, a law firm she joined in 2012. During her tenure there, she specialized in family law matters, handling dissolution, custody, child support, paternity, and pre-and post-decree matters as well as collaborative divorces. She also represented children as a Best Interests Attorney, a Court Appointed Child’s Attorney, and a Family Court Advisor.
Lewis earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Northern Arizona University in 1998. She spent the next several years working as a claims assistant for Fremont Compensation Insurance Group (Seattle) and a claims adjuster for Cambridge Integrated Services Group (Bellevue) before completing a J.D. at the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law in 2005. As a law student, Lewis served as a legal extern and Rule 9 intern for the Washington Attorney General’s Office as well as a Rule 38 intern for the Pima County Attorney’s Office.
After graduating from law school, Lewis entered into private practice. She started as an associate at DeConcini McDonald Yetwin & Lacy. Then, in 2011, she joined Udall Shumway & Lyons. During this time, she handled contract disputes, collection matters, replevins, and lease enforcement actions along with family law cases.
Her memberships have included the Pima County Bar Association and the Arizona Women Lawyers Association. She has also conducted family law clinics through Step Up to Justice, providing pro bono counsel for low-income and self-represented litigants, and she volunteered with Southern Arizona Legal Aid’s Volunteer Lawyers Program.
She was named Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year by the Arizona Bar Association (2010) as well as Family Law Attorney of the Year (2007) and Attorney of the Year (2008) by Southern Arizona Legal Aid.
