The Hon. Lisa A. Beran is a judge for the 20th Judicial District Court of Kansas. She was elected to the bench in 2020.
The 20th Judicial District includes Barton, Ellsworth, Rice, Russell, and Stafford Counties.
Prior to her election, Beran worked for thirty-three years as an attorney in Barton County, including managing her own private practice, the Law Office of Lisa A. Beran, since 1995. During that time, she gained experience in business litigation, insurance defense, medical malpractice, criminal, domestic, and child-in-need-of-care cases.
Beran received a B.A. in political science from the University of Kansas in 1983. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Kansas School of Law in 1986.
Her memberships include the Kansas Bar Association and the Barton County Bar Association. Beran is also active in her community, serving as chair of the Clara Barton Hospital Board of Directors and a past president of the Independent Township Library Board.
Beran and her husband, Gerald, have two children. She attends Holy Family Catholic Church, where she volunteers as an organist, choir member, and teacher.
