The Hon. Kris D. Bailey (Ret.) served as a judge for the Wake County District Court in the 10th Judicial District of North Carolina. Bailey was elected to the bench in 2010 and re-elected in 2014 and 2018. He retired in 2022.
Bailey earned a bachelor’s degree from Freed-Hardeman University (1978) and a master’s degree from Winthrop University (1981). He later completed a J.D. at the University of Georgia School of Law in 1995.
After graduating from law school, Bailey entered into private practice. He worked in that capacity until 2000, at which time he became a judge for the Wake County District Court. Then, in 2004, Bailey returned to private practice, supplementing his practice with service as a mediator for the North Carolina Superior Courts.
He is registered as a Republican.
