The Hon. Kevin K. Ryan (Ret.) was a judge for the Clinton County Court Multi-Bench in the Fourth Judicial District of New York. He was elected to the County Court in 1997 and retained in subsequent elections. He retired in 2016.
Ryan began his judicial career in 1988 when he became a judge for the Plattsburgh City Court. He remained in that capacity until his election to the County Court Multi-Bench (Surrogate and County Courts) in 1997. In addition to his responsibilities on the Multi-Bench, Ryan was appointed to serve as an acting justice of the Clinton County Supreme Court by former Chief Administrative Judge Jonathan Lippman in 2005. As such, he presided over a portion of the matrimonial cases in Clinton County.
He received a B.A. from Holy Cross College in 1971. Ryan also completed a J.D. from Albany Law School in 1974.
Before joining the bench, he worked as a private practice attorney beginning in 1975. As such, he specialized in criminal, matrimonial, and real estate law.
He is registered as a Democrat.
