The Hon. Ken Sanders is a commissioner for the Pima County Superior Court in Arizona. He was appointed to the bench on March 3, 2014, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Margaret Maxwell.
Prior to his appointment, Sanders was a partner at Sanders & Sanders, a law firm he established in 2005. During his tenure there, he handled family law cases in the Pima County Juvenile Court. He also represented criminal defendants in actions for post-conviction relief.
Sanders earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona. He spent the next several years teaching English for a high school in the Tucson Unified School District before completing a J.D. at the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law.
After graduating from law school, Sanders entered into private practice, working as an associate at Slutes, Sakrison & Hill. He spent the next two years handling medical malpractice and insurance defense litigation, eventually leaving to become a law clerk for the Hon. David C. Bury of the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.
Sanders was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona.
