The Hon. Kelly J. Fuemmeler is a district magistrate for the 22nd Judicial District Court of Kansas. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Laura Kelly in 2023, filling the vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Laura E. Johnson-McNish.
The 22nd Judicial District includes Brown, Doniphan, Marshall, and Nemaha Counties.
Fuemmeler was an attorney at Reeder & Boeh, Chtd. (2007 to 2023) prior to her appointment. She also served as a municipal judge for the City of Highland, co-city attorney for the City of Wathena, and assistant city attorney for the City of Troy at the time of her appointment. In addition, Fuemmeler was a former assistant prosecutor with the Atchison County Attorney’s Office.
She received a B.B.A. in human resources management and personnel administration from Missouri Western State University in 2001. Fuemmeler then completed a J.D. at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 2004.
She served as a member of the 22nd Judicial District Corrections Advisory Board.
