Biography

Hon. Keith B. Marquart is an associate circuit judge for the 5th Judicial Circuit Court (Division 5) of Missouri. He was appointed to the bench in 1989.


The 5th Judicial Circuit Court includes Andrew and Buchanan Counties.


During his judicial tenure, Marquart has presided over civil cases, small claims actions, and landlord-tenant cases. In Buchanan County, he presides over felony and misdemeanor changes of non-support, misdemeanor criminal cases, and preliminary hearings on criminal felony complaints.


Prior to his appointment, Marquart had worked as an attorney at Wilcox, Houts & Marquart (1986 to 1989) and was an assistant prosecuting attorney with the Buchanan County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office (1979 to 1986).


He received a B.A. in political science from Benedictine College in 1976. Marquart went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 1979.


Marquart was born in Washington, Missouri. He and his wife reside in St. Joseph.
