The Hon. Kay T. Kingsley (Ret.) served as a judge for the Monterey County Superior Court in California. Kingsley was appointed to the bench by former Governor Pete Wilson in 1994. She retired in 2014.
Kingsley earned a bachelor’s degree (1971) and a master’s degree (1972) from Stanford University. She then completed a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (1981).
After graduating from law school, Kingsley entered into private practice. She worked in that capacity until 1984, at which time she joined the Office of Monterey County Counsel as deputy county counsel. Then, in 1986, she returned to private practice.
She has sat as a board member of Interim, Inc., an organization that serves mentally ill clients by providing housing, treatment, and other support services.
