The Hon. Julia K. Munley is a judge for the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Tom Wolf on June 13, 2016, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Robert Mazzoni.
Prior to her appointment, Munley worked as a trial lawyer for Munley Law since 2001. During her tenure there, she represented individuals and families in personal injury cases involving accidents, products liability, workers’ compensation, and child abuse.
Munley earned a bachelor’s degree from Marywood University in 1987. She then completed a J.D. at Penn State Dickinson Law in 1992.
Her memberships have included the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the Lackawanna County Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the Luzerne County Law and Library Association.
Board of Directors of the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority (chairperson), the St. Francis of Assisi Soup Kitchen (president), and Goodwill Industries. She has also been a volunteer for the Hope Clinic as well as an elected delegate for the Democratic National Convention.
A resident of Clarks Summit, Munley is the daughter of the Hon. James M. Munley, a senior judge for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and Dr. Kathleen P. Munley, a professor at Marywood University. She is married to Patrick Rogan, a fellow attorney.
