Biography

The Hon. Joseph A. Brandolino is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Gray Davis in 2000.


Brandolino received a bachelor's degree in science from Providence College in 1983. He went on to earn his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1986.


Early in his legal career, Brandolino worked as an associate at O'Melveny & Myers in Los Angeles. Then, in 1990, he became an Assistant United States Attorney with the United States Attorney's Office for the Central District of California, where he remained until his appointment to the bench. During that time, Brandolino handled complex narcotics and money laundering cases and was the lead prosecutor for Operation Casa Blanca. The case served as the nation's largest money laundering investigation.


He also taught Civil Procedure as an adjunct professor of law at the University of La Verne's Woodland Hills campus.


Brandolino has a twin brother, John Brandolino, who also pursued a legal career. Following their attendance at Providence College, where they were roommates, the brothers were both accepted to Harvard Law School.
