Hon. Jonathan D. Sacks is a judge for the 4th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Ron DeSantis on April 10, 2023, filling a vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Adrian G. Soud to the Florida Fifth District Court of Appeal.
The 4th Judicial Circuit encompasses Clay County, Duval County, and Nassau County.
Prior to his appointment, Sacks was a judge for the Duval County Court, a position to which he was named in 2021. Before that, he spent time as an assistant state attorney with the Office of the State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit in Duval County (2013 to 2021).
Sacks received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond. He went on to complete a J.D. at Florida State University College of Law in 2002. He is Board Certified in Criminal Trial Law by The Florida Bar.
He was admitted to practice in Florida (2002) and the United States District Court for the District of Florida.
Sacks was a resident of Ponte Vedra, Florida, at the time of his appointment.
