The Hon. Jon D. Schmitt is a justice of the peace for the Judith Basin County Justice Court in Montana. He was re-elected to the bench on November 8, 2022.
As a court of limited jurisdiction, the Judith Basin County Justice Court hears criminal cases involving misdemeanor offenses, civil cases for amounts up to $15,000, and small claims cases valued up to $7,000.
