The Hon. Jon B. Wood (Ret.) served as a judge for the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Superior Court in Georgia. Wood was appointed to the bench by former Governor Joe Frank Harris on July 8, 1985. He retired on September 30, 2016.
The Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit includes Catoosa, Chattooga, Walker, and Dade Counties.
Wood earned a bachelor’s degree from Davidson College. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Georgia School of Law in 1974.
After graduating from law school, Wood began his legal career as an assistant district attorney for the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office. He served in that capacity until 1977, at which time he entered into private practice.
Born and raised in Baldwin County, Georgia, Wood relocated to the northwest corner of the state in 1974.
