Hon. John T. Cajacob (Ret.) was a judge for the 3rd Judicial District Court of Minnesota in Rice County. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Tim Pawlenty on May 13, 2010. Cajacob retired on February 28, 2020, and was subsequently assigned to serve as a statewide senior judge.
The 3rd Judicial District includes Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Rice, Steele, Wabasha, Waseca, and Winona Counties. During his judicial tenure, Cajacob presided over the Rice County Treatment Court since 2018.
Prior to his appointment, he had managed his own private practice in Faribault since 1979. Before that, Cajacob spent one year with Loren Barta in New Prague (1978 to 1979).
He received a B.A. from the University of Minnesota in 1974. Cajacob went on to complete a J.D. at William Mitchell College of Law in 1978.
His memberships have included the Minnesota State Bar Association, the 5th District Bar Association (past president), and the Rice County Bar Association.
Cajacob was also involved with the Faribault Rotary Club, the Noon Sertoma Club, the Consolidated Catholic School Board, and the Immaculate Conception Church Board of Trustees.
He was born in Graceville, Minnesota.
