Hon. John C. Eastlack, Jr. is a judge for the Cumberland/Gloucester/Salem County Superior Court (Vicinage 15) in New Jersey. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Chris Christie in 2017.
During his judicial tenure, Eastlack has held assignments in the Criminal Division (2017 to 2019), Family Division (2019 and 2020), and Civil Division (2019 to present) in Gloucester County as well as the Family Division (2019) in Cumberland County.
Prior to his appointment, his legal career included practicing as an attorney in the law firm of Holston, MacDonald, Uzdavinis, Eastlack, Ziegler & Lodge, P.A. His areas of practice included criminal defense, personal injury litigation, employment litigation, commercial litigation, administrative law, and land use. Eastlack also spent time as a solicitor for several townships and planning boards.
He received a B.A. from Rutgers University in 1983. Eastlack went on to complete a J.D. at Widener University, Delaware Law School in 1986.
He was admitted to practice in New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
Eastlack completed a judicial clerkship with the Hon. John E. Wallace, Jr.
His memberships have included the Camden County Bar Association, the Gloucester County Bar Association (past president), the New Jersey State Bar Association (former trustee), the Gloucester County Bar Foundation (past president), the South Jersey Bar Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
Eastlack has also sat as a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Criminal Law Section (chairman), Legislative Committee, and Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee.
