Hon. Jill M. Brady is a judge for the 4th Judicial District Court of Colorado. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor John Hickenlooper on July 1, 2015.
The 4th Judicial District includes El Paso and Teller Counties. While on the District Court, Brady is credited with forming a Best Practices Team that consists of judges, lawyers, mental health professionals, and other community providers, which was designed to help improve services for domestic relations litigants. She began her judicial career as a magistrate for the 4th Judicial District in 2013. During her tenure, she handled a domestic relations docket.
Prior to joining the bench, Brady spent five years as a staff attorney at Colorado Legal Services in Colorado Springs (2007 to 2013). Before that, she handled employment defense at a law firm in Denver.
Brady relocated to Colorado after working in private practice in Chicago (2004 to 2006). Her areas of practice there included antitrust and commercial litigation.
She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in 1999. Brady went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Michigan Law School in 2002. She was admitted to practice in Michigan (2003), Colorado (2007), and Illinois (2004).
After graduating from law school, Brady began a two-year clerkship for the Hon Marianne O. Battani with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
She served on the Board of the Pikes Peak Justice and Pro Bono Project and has been a presenter on supervised parenting time in domestic relations and civil protection order cases for CASA.
