Hon. Jennifer P. Harrison is a judge for the Marion County Superior Court in Indiana. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Eric Holcomb in August 2018, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Becky Pierson-Treacy (Ret.).
Harrison has held an assignment in the Criminal Division and served as Presiding Judge of the Marion County Superior Court.
Prior to her appointment, she worked as an associate at Lewis & Wilkins, LLP in Indianapolis (2017 to 2018) and was a former attorney with the Marion County Public Defender Agency (2008 to 2017), where she held an assignment in the Misdemeanor Division before advancing to the General Major Felony Division. Harrison later served as team leader for the Criminal Court. In private practice, she handled tort defense, insurance defense, and civil litigation.
Harrison received a B.A. in English literature from Indiana University in 2005. She went on to complete a J.D. at Indiana University, Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2008. While a law student, Harrison served as a legal clerk at Christie Farrell Lee & Bell (2007 to 2008).
She chaired the Criminal Justice Section of the Indianapolis Bar Association and was a board member for Drug Free Marion County.
Harrison also sat as a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Pro Bono Committee, Bench Bar Planning Committee, and Justice Center Task Force.
She is a graduate of the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service series (2015-2016).
Harrison was born in Louisville, Kentucky. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, Orange Theory, reading, and spending time with her two sons.
