Hon. Jennifer L. Martyn is an associate judge for the 18th Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois in DuPage County. She was appointed to the bench by the circuit judges of the 18th Judicial Circuit Court in 2022, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Brian J. Diamond (Ret.).
Martyn has held an assignment in the Traffic Division in Glendale Heights.
Prior to her appointment, she was a partner at Puchalski & Martyn in Wheaton, where she had practiced since 2012. Martyn was also a former associate at Kuhn, Mitchell, Moss, Mork & Lechowicz (2003 to 2012); Elizabeth L. Krueger, P.C. (1999 to 2003); and Best, Mangan, Langhenry, Gillen & Lundquist (1996 to 1999). During her tenure in private practice, she served as the deputy public guardian and deputy public administrator for DuPage County and was a member of the DuPage County Elder Abuse and Neglect Multidisciplinary Team.
She received a B.A. from Elmhurst College in 1990. Martyn went on to complete a J.D. at the John Marshall School of Law (now the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law) in 1996.
She was admitted to practice in Illinois (1996) and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (1996).
Her memberships have included the DuPage County Bar Association, the Bohemian Lawyers Association, and the Illinois Guardianship Association (past president).
Martyn has also served as a member of the Friends of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County Board of Directors.
