Hon. Jeffery G. Chrones is an associate judge for the Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois. He was elected to the Circuit Court by the Cook County Circuit judges in 2018.
While on the bench, Chrones has held an assignment in the First Municipal District of the Municipal Department.
He received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Bloomington. Chrones went on to complete a J.D. at Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Prior to joining the bench, he was an attorney and equity shareholder at Johnson & Bell, Trial Lawyers. Chrones joined the firm in 2003, and his areas of practice included defense of designers, manufacturers, and sellers in product liability claims, asbestos litigation, wrongful death claims, catastrophic injury claims, general negligence and premise liability, employment law, commercial litigation, and criminal defense. Chrones also served as a member of the Johnson & Bell Diversity Committee.
He moved to the private sector after working as an assistant state’s attorney with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office (1995 to 2003) and an Illinois assistant attorney general (1993 to 1995).
Chrones has served on the board of directors of the Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois.
