The Hon. Jason H. Coats is a judge for the 11th Judicial District Court of North Carolina in Harnett County. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Roy Cooper in 2019, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Robert W. Bryant.
The 11th Judicial District includes Harnett, Johnston, and Lee Counties.
Prior to his appointment, Coats was a partner at Wilkins, Wellons & Coats since 2004. At the firm, his practice focused on civil, criminal, and corporate law matters. He began his legal career as an associate at Baddour, Parker, Hine, PC in 2003.
Coats received a B.A. and an M.B.A. from Campbell University. He then completed a J.D. at Campbell University, Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, in 2003.
