The Hon. James F. Combo is a magistrate for the 1st Judicial District Magistrate Division of Idaho. He was appointed to the bench by the District Magistrate Commission of the 1st Judicial District in 2015, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Barry E. Watson.
The 1st Judicial District includes Benewah, Bonner, Boundary, Kootenai, and Shoshone Counties. Combo has held an assignment in Kootenai County.
Prior to his appointment, his legal career included practicing as an attorney at Charles Bean & Associates, PLLC in Coeur d’Alene.
He received an A.A. from the College of Southern Idaho and a bachelor’s degree from Linfield College. Combo then completed a J.D. at the University of Idaho College of Law in 1983.
He was admitted to practice in Idaho (1983) and Washington (1989).
