The Hon. J.T. Foster is a judge for the Anderson County Probate Court in South Carolina. He was elected to the bench in November 2022.
Prior to his election, Foster spent sixteen years as a deputy sheriff with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department. During that time, he served as a uniform patrol deputy, narcotics investigator, proactive patrol supervisor, and spokesman for the office.
Foster received an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Tri-County Technical College, a B.S. in criminal justice from Anderson University, and a master’s degree from the Command College of South Carolina.
Foster received the David L. Crenshaw Alumnus of the Year Award from Anderson University in 2022.
He was born in Anderson County and attended Belton Honea Path High School. Foster is a married father of three children.
He is registered as a Republican.
