Judge J. David Mazurek: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

The Hon. J. David Mazurek is a judge for the Superior Court of San Bernardino County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2006, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Peter Norell.

Mazurek earned a B.S. from California State University, San Francisco. He then completed a J.D. from the University of La Verne College of Law.

He began his legal career in 1993. He first worked as an associate at Zumbrunn Law Corporation. The following year, he left the firm and started his own private practice as a sole practitioner.

Then, in 1996, he joined the Office of the District Attorney of San Bernardino County, where he served as a deputy district attorney until 2006.

Mazurek was a resident of Upland, California at the time of his appointment. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His father, Fred Mazurek, was a wide receiver for the Washington Redskins and the Detroit Lions.

He is registered as a Republican.
