The Hon. Howard Hantman (Ret.) served as a judge for the Pima County Superior Court in Arizona. Hantman was appointed to the bench by former Governor Fife Symington in 1994, filling a vacancy created by the passing of the Hon. G. Thomas Meehan. He retired on July 26, 2013.
Prior to his appointment, Hantman was a judge pro tempore for the Pima County Superior Court, a position to which he was named in 1989.
Hantman earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law in 1971.
After graduating from law school, Hantman began his legal career as a deputy county attorney for the Pima County Attorney’s Office. He then spent time as an assistant public defender for the Pima County Public Defender’s Office.
