The Hon. Heidi E. Schultz is a judge for the 7th Judicial District Court of Minnesota. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Tim Walz on May 16, 2022, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Kris H. Davick-Halfen.
The 7th Judicial District includes Becker County, Benton County, Clay County, Douglas County, Mille Lacs County, Morrison County, Otter Tail County, Stearns County, Todd County, and Wadena County.
Prior to her appointment, Schultz was an assistant county attorney for the Todd County Attorney’s Office. During her tenure there, she prosecuted adult criminal cases of all levels. Before that, she spent time as a partner at Swenson Lervick Syverson Trosvig Jacobson Schultz Cass.
Schultz earned a bachelor’s degree from Valparaiso University. She then completed a J.D. at Valparaiso University School of Law.
After graduating from law school, Schultz began her legal career as a law clerk to the Hon. Mark A. Munger of the 6th Judicial District Court of Minnesota. She then became an assistant county attorney, holding assignments in Douglas County, St. Louis County, and Olmsted County.
Her memberships have included the Board of Directors of the Alexandria Dollars for Scholars Foundation and the Alexandria Figure Skating Club. She also sat on the Minnesota Supreme Court Advisory Committee on the Rules of Criminal Procedure.
