Biography

The Hon. Gregory L. Taddonio is a judge for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He was appointed to the bench by the United States Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit on July 1, 2013.


Taddonio has served as Chief U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Western District of Pennsylvania.


Prior to his appointment, he was a partner at Reed Smith LLP since 2007. Taddonio was a member of the firm’s Commercial Restructuring & Bankruptcy Group. Before joining the firm in 2001, he was an associate at Black McCuskey Souers & Arbaugh in Ohio (1996 to 2001).


Taddonio received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Taddonio was admitted to practice in Pennsylvania (2002) and Ohio (1996).
