The Hon. Frederick B. Adams is a judge for the Forsyth County District Court in the 21st Judicial District of North Carolina. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Roy Cooper on September 30, 2021, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Lisa V. Menefee.
Prior to his appointment, Adams was the principal owner of the Law Offices of Frederick B. Adams, a law firm he established in 2005. His practice encompassed traffic and criminal defense matters as well as general civil litigation.
Adams earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Bluefield University in 1996. He then completed a J.D. at Wake Forest University School of Law in 2000.
After graduating from law school, Adams entered into private practice in Winston-Salem. He started as an attorney handling complex products liability cases at Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice. Then, in 2002, he moved to Crumley Roberts, where he specialized in personal injury litigation involving motor vehicle accidents.
His memberships have included the Forsyth County Bar Association, the Winston-Salem Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, and the Forsyth County Criminal Defense Trial Lawyers Association. He has also been involved with the North Carolina Black Repertory Company, Communities in School, and Family Blueprints of North Carolina.
He is registered as a Democrat.
