Biography

The Hon. Frank J. DeAngelis is a judge for the Morris/Sussex County Superior Court (Vicinage 10) in New Jersey. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Chris Christie on January 18, 2017.


DeAngelis has held assignments in the Civil Division (2017 to 2018, 2021 to present) and the Family Division (2018 to 2020) in Morris County as well as the Civil Division (2017) in Sussex County.


Prior to his appointment, DeAngelis was a partner at Mound Cotton Wollan & Greengrass, a law firm established in 1933. During his tenure there, he handled domestic and international litigation, specializing in third-party coverage and claims defense, multi-layered policy defense of complex property losses, weather-related catastrophic losses, environmental contamination, business interruption, general commercial litigation, and real estate transactions.


DeAngelis earned a bachelor’s degree from Elizabethtown College. He then completed a J.D. at Seton Hall Law School in 1996. He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.


His memberships have included the Board of Trustees of Partners for Women and Justice, a non-profit organization providing assistance to victims of domestic violence. He is also the co-author of “New Jersey Insurance Coverage Litigation - 2015.”


He was a resident of the Towaco Section of Montville at the time of his appointment.
