The Hon. F. Christopher Giruzzi is a judge for the Utica City Court in Oneida County in the Fifth Judicial District of New York. He was elected to the City Court bench in 2016. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. John Balzano (Ret.).
Judge Giruzzi graduated with his B.A. in communications from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh in 1988. He went on to earn his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in 1995.
After graduating from law school, Giruzzi joined the Giruzzi Law Offices as an associate in 1996. During his sixteen-year tenure there, he was named a partner in 1999. While practicing at the firm, Giruzzi began serving as a town judge for the Town of Frankfort in 2007. Then, in 2013, he entered into solo practice at his own law firm, where he remained until his election to the City Court in 2016. While in private practice, Giruzzi specialized in commercial, real estate, matrimonial, personal injury, estate planning, elder, criminal, and civil law.
Besides his law practice, Giruzzi also served as a pro bono counselor for the Thea Bowman House.
His memberships have included the SUNY IT College Council, the New York State Bar Association, the Oneida County Bar Association, and the Herkimer County Bar Association.
