The Hon. Erika L. Green is a judge for the East Baton Rouge Parish Family Court in Louisiana. She was elected to the bench in 2021.
Green received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice (juvenile justice) from Prairie View A&M University. Green then completed a J.D. at Southern University Law Center.
Green specialized in family law, estate, and civil matters at her own private practice, the Law Office of Erika Green, LLC, in Baton Rouge. In addition to managing her firm, she served as a CINC (Child in Need of Care) attorney for Southeast Legal Services, a foster care provider for the Department of Children and Family Services, and an administrative hearing officer for the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
Green was also an adjunct professor at Southern University Law Center and was active in local government, serving for six years as the East Baton Rouge Metro Councilwoman for District 5.
Her memberships include the Louis A. Martinet Society (Greater Baton Rouge Chapter), the Louisiana Council of Juvenile & Family Court Judges, the Louisiana Judicial Council/National Bar Association, the American Judges Association, the Louisiana District Judges Association, the National Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the Baton Rouge Bar Association. Green has also been involved with the Baton Rouge Delta Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., NOBLE, and the Top Ladies of Distinction Nonpareil Chapter.
Among her accolades, she received the Lottie B. Schackleford Award for Community and Political Involvement from the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority at Prairie View A&M University.
Green is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she attended Belaire High School.
She is registered as a Democrat.
