Hon. Edward R. Collier is a judge for the Pataula Judicial Circuit Juvenile Court in Georgia. He was appointed to the bench in 1995.
The Pataula Judicial Circuit is comprised of Clay, Early, Miller, Quitman, Randolph, Seminole, and Terrell Counties.
Collier presides over Randolph and Terrell Counties.
In addition to his judicial responsibilities, he is also a partner in the Dawson law firm of Collier & Gamble, where he has practiced since 1991. During that same time, Collier served as a county attorney in both Calhoun and Terrell Counties.
He received an A.B. from the University of Georgia in 1986. Collier went on to complete a J.D. at Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law in 1990.
He is admitted to practice in Georgia, the Supreme Court of Georgia, the Court of Appeals of Georgia, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
After graduating from law school, Collier began his legal career as an assistant district attorney with the Northeastern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office, though his time there would be brief. The following year he left the public sector to join Collier & Gamble.
He was elected to the State Bar of Georgia Board of Governors (Pataula Judicial Circuit seat) in 2013.
From a civic standpoint, Collier has been involved with the Boys & Girls Club of Terrell County, the Better Hometown Task Force, the Downtown Dawson Development Authority, the Terrell County Airport Authority, the Dawson Rotary Club, and the Deerfield-Windsor School Board of Trustees. He is also a graduate of Leadership Georgia, Class of 2003.
Collier and his wife, Beth, have three children. The family attends the First Baptist Church in Dawson.
