The Hon. E. Vincent Davis is a judge for the 17th Chancery Court District of Mississippi. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Haley Barbour in 2009.
The 17th Chancery includes Adams, Claiborne, Jefferson, and Wilkinson Counties.
Prior to his appointment, Davis was a Democratic member of the Mississippi State Senate for the 36th District since 2008. During that time, he served on the Appropriations, Constitution, Drug Policy, Ethics, Forestry, Judiciary B, Labor, and Oil and Gas Committees. Davis also served as an assistant district attorney for the 6th Circuit and was a city attorney for the City of Fayette.
He received a B.S. from Alcorn State University in 1985. Davis then completed a J.D. at Mississippi College School of Law in 1989.
His memberships include the American Bar Association, The Mississippi Bar, the Magnolia Bar Association, and the National Bar Association.
The fourth of five children, Davis was born in Prentiss, Mississippi. Davis attended Jefferson County High School.
