The Hon. Deborah Kim Christopher is a judge for the 20th Judicial District Court of Montana. She was elected to the bench in 2000.
The 20th Judicial District includes Lake and Sanders Counties.
Prior to beginning her judicial career, Christopher served as the first woman to be elected as the Lake County Attorney (1994 to 2000). Before that, she was in private practice at French, Mercer, Grainey & O’Neill (1993 to 1995) and served as a deputy county attorney in Cascade County (1991 to 1993).
Christopher also served as an Airborne Captain in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps during Desert Storm and helped prosecute civilian criminal matters in federal court as a Special Assistant United States Attorney (1989 to 1990).
She received a B.A. in liberal arts from the University of Montana in 1982. Christopher then completed a J.D. at the University of Montana, Alexander Blewett III School of Law, in 1988.
Raised in Polson, Montana, she attended Polson High School. Christopher has two sons.
