Biography

Hon. Deborah J. Venezia is a judge for the Vicinage 8 Superior Court in Middlesex County in New Jersey. She was appointed to the bench in 1995 and reappointed in 2002.


While on the bench, Venezia has held assignments in the Family and Criminal Divisions in Middlesex County. She has also served as the presiding judge of the Family Division since 2008.


Prior to joining the Superior Court, she sat as a municipal court judge in Hightstown (1992 to 1995), Plainsboro (1989 to 1995), Old Bridge (1986 to 1989), and Jamesburg (1983 to 1988 and 1982 to 1983).


Venezia also acted as a municipal prosecutor in Jamesburg (1982 to 1983) and practiced as an attorney in the Woodbridge law firm of Venezia & Nolan.


She received a bachelor’s degree from Fairfield University in 1978. Venezia went on to complete a J.D. at St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1981.
