The Hon. David Lee Brewer is a judge for the Pike County Court in Mississippi. He was elected to the bench in 2022 to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. John Price.
Brewer has also served as the judge for the Pike County Youth Court and has been a special youth court referee for Walthall County since 2018.
Prior to his election, he served the County Attorney for Pike County since 2006 and was a prosecutor for the McComb Municipal Court (2007 to 2018); the interim County Attorney (2009 to 2010) and interim Youth Court prosecutor (2006 to 2022) for Walthall County; and interim City Prosecutor for Tylertown Municipal Court (2009 to 2010).
In addition to serving in these positions, Brewer also managed his own private practice, the Brewer Law Firm, PLLC since 2006, where he litigated DUIs, personal injury, wrongful death, criminal defense, workers’ compensation, domestic cases, offshore accidents, and eighteen wheeler accidents. Prior to establishing his law firm, he was a partner at the Law Offices of Neyland & Brewer in Ridgeland (2001 to 2005).
Brewer supplemented his legal practice with work as the owner of Brewer Farms (2011 to present); the manager of Pilot Construction, LLC (2004 to 2007); and the president of Cirrus Medical, LLC (2004 to 2005).
He received B.S. in human factors engineering from the United States Air Force Academy in 1993. Brewer then completed a J.D. at the University of Mississippi School of Law (1998) and a master’s degree in sociology from the University of Mississippi (2000). While in law school, he was a legal assistant and clerk at the Lewis Law Firm (1996 to 1998).
Brewer was admitted to practice in Mississippi in 2001.
His memberships include The Mississippi Bar, the American Legion, the Association of Graduates of the United States Air Force Academy, the University of Mississippi Alumni Association, the Rebel Cheer Alumni Association, the Ole Miss Cheerleading Alumni Association, the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association, the National College of DUI Defense, and the American Association of DUI Trial Lawyers, to name a few.
Brewer has also been involved with the Freemasons, the McComb City Lodge #382, the Circle Lodge #638, the McComb Lions Club, the National Wild Turkey Foundation, Ducks Unlimited, and MENSA.
Born and raised in Pike County, he attended McComb High School, where he was named to the school’s Hall of Fame in 2017. Before pursuing his legal career, he served as a Missile Combat Crew Commander at Minot Air Force Base (1993 to 1995) and was a former instructor for the Universal Cheerleaders Association (1996 to 2001) and a survival instructor for the Department of Defense Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape Training Program (SERE). Brewer most recently served as Director of Mentoring for the United States Air Force Academy Bolt Brotherhood Association.
