The Hon. David Hooste is a magistrate for the 6th Judicial District Magistrate Division of Idaho. He was appointed to the bench by the District Magistrate Commission of the 6th Judicial District in May 2015, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. David L. Evans.
The 6th Judicial District includes Bannock, Bear Lake, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida, and Power Counties. Hooste has held an assignment in Oneida County.
Prior to his appointment, he was an associate at Echo Hawk Law. Before that, Hooste served as the chief deputy prosecuting attorney in Bingham County (2005 to 2010) and was an associate at Shetterly, Irick, Shetterly & Ozias (2001 to 2003).
He received a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in 1997. Hooste then completed a J.D. at Willamette Univesity College of Law in 2000.
He was admitted to practice in Oregon (2000) and Idaho (2003).
