The Hon. David E. Ackerson (Ret.) served as a judge for the 6th Judicial District Court of Minnesota. Ackerson was appointed to the bench by former Governor Albert Quie on January 4, 1982. He retired in 2018.
The 6th Judicial District includes Carlton County, Cook County, Lake County, and St. Louis County.
Ackerson earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of St. Thomas in 1971. He then completed a J.D. at William Mitchell College of Law in 1976.
After graduating from law school, Ackerson began his legal career as an attorney in private practice.
