The Hon. Darrell J. Drakeford is a magistrate for the Kershaw County Magistrate Court in South Carolina. He joined the bench in 2005.
The civil cases heard in magistrate court include eviction/notice to quit, summons and complaint lawsuits of $7500 or less, restraining orders, and claim and delivery actions. Magistrates also hear criminal and traffic cases, issue warrants and set bonds, and hold preliminary hearings and transfer cases for Kershaw County.
Drakeford has also worked as a senior auditor for the South Carolina Office of the Inspector General since 2022. In addition, he has served as a senior auditor and unit manager with the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce and was an engineering technician at Dana Incorporated (1992 to 2000).
