The Hon. Danny Singleton is a judge for the Oconee County Probate Court in South Carolina. He was elected to the bench on November 8, 2022.
Prior to his election, Singleton pursued a career in law enforcement. He started as an officer with the Westminster Police Department before becoming an investigator with the Seneca Police Department and the 10th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office. Singleton supplemented his work with service as a judge for the Seneca Municipal Court, the Westminster Municipal Court, and the Walhalla Municipal Court.
Singleton earned an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Tri-County Technical College. He is also a graduate of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy (1990).
His memberships have included the Tri-County Judicial Association and the South Carolina Summary Court Judges Association.
Singleton was born and raised in Oconee County, where he graduated from Seneca High School. His father, James, served as the Sheriff of Oconee County. Singleton and his wife, Melissa, have one adult son. When not presiding over legal proceedings, he enjoys camping and spending time on the lakes of Oconee.
