Hon. Daniel A. Bryant is a judge for the 12th Judicial District Court of New Mexico. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Susana Martinez on June 26, 2015, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Karen L. Parsons (Ret.).
The 12th Judicial District includes Otero and Lincoln Counties. Bryant has presided in both counties.
Prior to his appointment, he was the County Attorney in Otero County (1978 to 2015). Over the course of his legal career, Bryant also worked as an attorney for the City of Ruidoso Downs and the Village of Ruidoso, a private practice attorney, and an assistant district attorney with the 12th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
He received a B.A. from New Mexico Highlands University. Bryant went on to complete a J.D. at the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1978.
He was chairman of the New Mexico Association of Counties Attorney’s Affiliate and chief counsel to the New Mexico House of Judiciary Committee during the 2015 Legislative Session.
Bryant is registered as a Republican.
