The Hon. Daniel A. Boucher (Ret.) served as a judge for the 12th Judicial District Court of Montana. Boucher was appointed to the bench by former Governor Brian Schweitzer in 2010, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Dave Rice. He retired on November 9, 2018.
The 12th Judicial District encompasses Chouteau, Hill, and Liberty Counties.
Prior to his appointment, Boucher was a regional deputy public defender with the Montana Office of the State Public Defender. Before that, he spent time as an attorney in private practice, supplementing his practice with service as a part-time deputy county attorney for the Hill County Attorney’s Office.
Boucher earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Montana in 1980. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Montana, Alexander Blewett III School of Law, in 1984.
Raised in Missoula, Montana, Boucher attended Hellgate High School.
