Biography

The Hon. Danah Zirpoli is a judge for the 64th District Court of Texas. Zirpoli was elected to the bench on November 6, 2018.


The 64th District Court includes Castro, Hale, and Swisher counties. While on the bench, she has presided over the Hale County Drug Court.


Prior to her election, Zirpoli was a first assistant district attorney with the Hale County District Attorney’s Office, a position to which she was named in 2014. During this time, she prosecuted felony cases in the 64th District Court. Before that, Zirpoli spent time in Austin as an attorney in the Criminal Prosecution Division of the Texas Attorney General’s Office, where she handled cases in the Cyber Crimes and Child Protection section.


She received a B.S. in criminal justice from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2003. Zirpoli then completed a J.D. at Texas Tech School of Law in 2006. She was admitted to practice in Texas (2007).


After graduating from law school, Zirpoli was hired by District Attorney Wally Hatch to serve as an assistant district attorney with the Hale County District Attorney’s Office. She began prosecuting misdemeanor cases before her quick promotion to felony prosecutor in 2008, after which time she prosecuted felony cases in the 64th District Court. Zirpoli continued in that capacity until relocating to Austin in 2011.


Zirpoli was raised in Austin, Texas. Her husband, Robert, has worked as an electrical engineer in Lubbock.


She is registered as a Republican.
