The Hon. D. Ryan Bruhl is a judge for the Walthall County Justice Court in Mississippi. He was elected to the bench in 2015.
During his judicial tenure, Bruhl was appointed a municipal judge for Tylertown in 2014 and a family master, a special master for commitments, and a youth court referee for Walthall County.
Bruhl is also a partner at Foxworth, Shepard & Bruhl, P.A. in Columbia since 2018. Before joining the firm, he was an associate at the Stinson Law Office in Tylertown. His areas of practice include real estate law, probate law, estate planning and trusts, and corporations.
Bruhl received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2007. He then completed a J.D. at Mississippi College School of Law in 2011.
His memberships include The Mississippi Bar and the Southwest Mississippi Bar Association.
Bruhl was appointed to serve as a member of the Commission on Judicial Performance by the Mississippi Supreme Court in 2019. He is also a past president of the Walthall County Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Board of Directors of the Walthall County Dairy Festival and Christmas in the Park.
Bruhl has been involved with the Varnel Masonic Lodge and the Board of Directors of the Southwest Mississippi Community College Alumni Association. He has also participated in the Walthall ASPIRE team training through the Mississippi Development Authority.
Bruhl was born in Covington, Louisiana. He and his wife, Jennifer, have two children. The family attends Tylertown Baptist Church.
