The Hon. Connie M. Aucoin is a judge for the 29th Judicial District Court of Louisiana in St. Charles Parish. She was elected to the bench in 2019.
Aucoin received a bachelor’s degree in mass communication/journalism from Louisiana State University. She then completed a J.D. at Louisiana State University, Paul M. Hebert Law Center, in 2000. Aucoin was admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana.
Aucoin spent twelve years in civil practice before becoming an assistant district attorney in St. Charles Parish in 2012. During her last seven years there, she was a prosecutor in Division C, tasked with representing the state in all aspects of felony and misdemeanor criminal cases, including screening, pre-trial litigation, trials, and sentencing. She was also involved with the St. Charles Parish Drug Court Program and was a Legal Aspects instructor for the St. Charles Sheriff’s Office Regional P.O.S.T. Academy classes.
In private practice, Aucoin gained experience in employment law, insurance, medical malpractice, civil rights, transactional and business litigation, personal injury, and family law.
Her memberships include the St. Charles Parish Bar Association and the Republican Women of St. Charles Parish.
Aucoin, who was born and raised in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana, attended Destrehan High School. She and her husband, Rusty, have two children. The family attends St. Charles Borromeo Church, where they serve in the Marriage Preparation Ministry.
Aucoin is registered as a Republican.
