The Hon. Chelsea W. Rengel is a judge for the Jackson County Court in Colorado. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Jared Polis on July 16, 2019.
Prior to her appointment, Rengel was an associate at Miller & Associates, a law firm she joined in 2017. During that time, she handled administrative and appellate matters in Denver.
Rengel earned a bachelor’s degree in social welfare and justice from Marquette University in 2008. She then completed a J.D. at Gonzaga University School of Law in 2011. She is admitted to practice in Idaho (2011) and Colorado (2011).
After graduating from law school, Rengel began her legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Randy J. Stoker of the 5th Judicial District Court of Idaho. She served in that capacity until 2013, at which time she became a deputy state public defender for the Golden Regional Office of the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office.
