Hon. Charles C. Glasrud (Ret.) was a judge for the 8th Judicial District Court of Minnesota in Stevens County. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Mark Dayton on May 12, 2011, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Peter Hoff (Ret.). Glasrud retired on October 7, 2022, and was subsequently assigned to serve as a statewide senior judge.
The 8th Judicial District includes Big Stone, Chippewa, Grant, Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle, Meeker, Pope, Renville, Stevens, Swift, Traverse, Wilkin, and Yellow Medicine Counties. During his judicial tenure, Glasrud also presided in Big Stone County.
Prior to joining the bench, he was a shareholder at Glasrud & Economou, P.A. (2008 to 2011) and Martin, Nelson, Glasrud & Klopfleisch, P.A. (1986 to 2007). While in private practice, Glasrud also served as the County Attorney in Stevens County (1991 to 2011).
He received a B.A. in English from Kenyon College in 1977. Glasrud went on to complete a J.D. at Cleveland State University College of Law in 1981.
He was a past president of the Minnesota County Attorneys Association Board of Directors and the Sixteenth District Bar Association. Glasrud also served on the Legal Services of Northwest Minnesota Board of Directors and the Stevens County Development Achievement Center Board of Directors.
