The Hon. Chandra W. Baker-Robinson is a judge for the Third Circuit Court in Michigan. She was elected to the bench on November 3, 2020.
Prior to her election, Baker-Robinson was an assistant prosecuting attorney in the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. During her tenure there, she led the Wayne Arson Reduction Unit, a group that prosecutes arson for-profit crimes.
Baker-Robinson earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. She then completed a J.D. at Wayne State University Law School in 2003.
After graduating from law school, Baker-Robinson began her legal career as an associate at Miller, Canfield, Paddock & Stone. She was assigned to the Labor and Employment Discrimination Section.
She is a recipient of the Prosecutor of the Year Award from the International Association of Arson Investigators (2017).
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Baker-Robinson attended Cass Technical High School. Her favorite book is “Born a Crime” by Trevor Noah.
