Biography

The Hon. Bride Seifert is a judge for the Homer Superior Court in the 3rd Judicial District of Alaska. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Mike Dunleavy on December 6, 2019.


The 3rd Judicial District includes Anchorage, Cordova, Dillingham, Glennallen, Homer, Kenai, Kodiak, Naknek, Palmer, Sand Point, St. Paul Island, Seward, Unalaska, and Valdez.


Prior to her appointment, Seifert worked as an assistant district attorney in both Bethel and Kotzebue since 2018. Before that, she spent five years as an administrative law judge with the Office of Administrative Hearings (2013 to 2018).


Seifert received a bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University in 1994. She then managed her own cleaning company before completing a J.D. at Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2010. Seifert was admitted to practice in Alaska in 2011.


She began her legal career as a law clerk to the Hon. Louis J. Menendez with the Juneau Superior Court (2011 to 2012) before joining the Alaska Department of Law as an assistant attorney general in 2012, though her time there was brief. The following year, Seifert began her tenure as an administrative law judge.


She is a member of the National Association of Women Judges, the Alaska Bar Association, the Juneau Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. From a civic standpoint, Seifert has volunteered for the Early Resolution Project; the Alaska State Library, Archives, and Museum; Juneau Mountain Rescue; and the National Ski Patrol.


Since relocating to Alaska in 2011, she enjoys spending her free time outdoors with her husband and reading. Seifert attended the St. Joseph Academy.
