Hon. Ashley Halvorson is a judge for the Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Doug Ducey in October 2021.
Prior to her appointment, Halvorson was a partner at Jones, Skelton & Hochuli, P.L.C. She first joined the firm as an associate in 2009 and was named a partner in 2017. At the firm, Halvorson defended insurance companies in complex breach of contract and bad faith litigation and individuals and businesses in personal injury and wrongful death litigation. In addition to her work there, she was appointed to serve as a judge pro tem of the Superior Court in Maricopa County in 2018.
Halvorson received a B.A. in political science from Arizona State University in 2005. She went on to complete a J.D. at Arizona State University, Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in 2009.
Halvorson was appointed to the Hispanic National Bar Association’s Latina Commission in 2020 and was elected vice-president of the Los Abogados Foundation the following year.
She received the Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Award from the State Bar of Arizona in 2020. In addition, Halvorson was named a Southwest Super Lawyers Rising Star for consecutive years since 2013 and one of the Top Lawyers Under Forty by the Hispanic National Bar Association in 2017.
