The Hon. Ari P. Fisz is an associate judge for the Lake County Circuit Court in Illinois. He was appointed to the bench by the judges of the 19th Judicial Circuit on March 16, 2018, filling a vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Joseph Salvi.
Prior to his appointment, Fisz was an assistant state’s attorney in the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office. During his tenure there, he sat as Chief of the Felony Division and Chief of Felony Review.
Fisz earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1995. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Illinois College of Law in 1998.
After graduating from law school, Fisz entered into private practice, practicing civil litigation at Arnstein & Lehr and Garner Carton & Douglas in Chicago. He supplemented his practice by lecturing at Northwestern University.
He was a resident of Deerfield, Illinois, at the time of his appointment.
